Breathing Space for Business services are delivered, not just by people who’ve read the text books and gained a qualification. Of course, we’ve done all that, but we’ve actually been out there, working in competitive business environments for many years and we understand the pressures on businesses and their employees to perform.

Annie Lawler, Owner and Managing Director of Breathing Space, is passionate about helping people manage personal stress and wellbeing positively by learning simple, effective, down-to-earth and proven techniques, which make them healthier, happier and more effective.

Having worked in competitive business environments for over 20 years, achieving Board level status and having experienced some pressurised and challenging times herself, Annie decided to train in stress management for her own benefit. Six months into the training, she found the benefits of the techniques she was learning so life-changing and positive, that she decided this was the career for her. Subsequently, having qualified with a distinction in stress management, she also trained in hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, NLP techniques, EFT and Reiki.

Says Annie, “What I have learned and put into practice has opened up such new avenues for me and turned my life completely on its head. I wish someone had come into my office and taught me what I now teach 20 years ago. It would have made life so much easier and I’d have been so much more effective in everything I did!

I was as big a sceptic as anyone when I started to study some of these techniques. Some of it is so easy and so obvious, I found it hard to believe it could work. But I chose to give it a chance and see whether there was anything in it. After all, you can’t expect to keep on doing the same thing and get different results!

What I discover now is that the techniques I teach are highly beneficial in all aspects of life and I’m thrilled every time I see someone else finding the same improvements and getting so much more from life. This is stuff that really gets results.

At least 50% of the benefit of any ‘talking therapy’, coaching or mentoring relationship comes from standing back and taking stock. Having an objective figure who can provide support, give new perspectives on seemingly impossible situations and faciliate change is invaluable.

To me, it’s a complete ‘no brainer’. If you treat your business and your employees with respect and make them feel valued, you’re going to get far more from them.

Annie writes and delivers most of the Breathing Space for Business programmes and conducts the 1-2-1 sessions, but is happy to work alongside other specialists and your occupational health team.

There is a real need for time to stop and take a look at your business (and personal life) every so often. By doing so, you have a chance to assess if your business and your staff are producing the results you want.  If not, perhaps there are changes that should be made?
